Students Training in Diplomas and Certificates

Long-term courses are held at our campus in Juja. To enroll, the minimum entry requirement for the Diploma in Organic Agriculture is an aggregate Grade C- at the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or a Certificate in Organic Agriculture. The minimum qualification for a certificate course is a D+ at KCSE level.
Intake and duration of the courses:
There are two intakes per year: one in March-April and another in September-October every year. The certificate course takes 18 months while the diploma course takes 2 years. Both courses are residential, although day scholars are accepted. Distance learning course program is also available for those learners not available for regular programs.
Value adding support courses:
KIOF offers computer training, mathematics and statistical training, entrepreneurship/ business skills training, extension methods and communication skills.
KIOF course objectives
• To provide training in various aspects of organic agriculture and related fields such as natural resource management and rural development.

• To facilitate the effective exchange of knowledge and expertise in organic agriculture, rural development and the environment.
• To prepare professionals for participation in dissemination of organic agriculture knowledge to the community.
• To produce skilled manpower in organic product standard

There are openings for further learning at Martyrs University in Uganda for a Bachelor’s degree in organic agriculture. KIOF can facilitate application to this university for students who qualify. Egerton University is also starting a similar degree in organic agriculture.
